Moon Over Lisbon - A Song for You

Some of you may know that I also write music and sing. I am currently writing an album entitled ‘Flame’. I thought I would offer you a little gift of a song to say thankyou for taking the time to read my blog.

Moon Over Lisbon is a song I began some time ago. I wanted to capture the essence of Portuguese Fado music and some sense of what Portugal means to me. The music came quickly, the words were a little more evasive aside from the refrain ‘vejo a lua’ (I see the moon). This is a quick recording to give you a taste of what is to come. I’m inspired by many artists and genres. Moon over Lisbon is an expression of my love for the beautiful city and Portugal. I hope you enjoy it. Please feel free to comment.

Obrigada

    Lily,

Do you live in Lisbon, as the German speaking Portugal Forum says?

He also says you should try and sing sometime. But you DO sing! And very nicely at that.

I wonder what was meant with that comment. I am somewhat confused…………

But I just love your blog, so forward and onwards……..keep on surprising your readers! :o)

    Ubi

P.S. I speak German, hence I was interested what the whole article said.

    Hi Ubi
I’m not based in Lisbon at the moment, I’m in the UK. I visit a lot and hope to move over there in the future.
I don’t speak any German so I don’t know what the comment meant. *laughs* - yes I do sing :-)

    Katy - thankyou x

    Olá Ubi,

in the German speaking Forum, where I informed our friends about Lea´s Love Song and beautiful voice and tone …I asked Chica to try to sing aswell.
Chica is a (at least in Germany) well known author of several books and moderator in Portugalforum….
Chica however answered, that she was fired from school choir because of her voice !
    What a pitty !
Now Lily has to sing in German aswell !
    :)

lol Ralf - I shall have to clone myself so my other ‘me’ can learn German. It’s going to take me a lifetime to learn Portuguese ;-)

    Hi Ralf and Lily!

    What a confusion.

When I read ‘Chica’ I thought you (Ralf) were refering to the word ‘chica’ i.e. ‘young lady’ in Spanish! :-)

Our Chica can do miracles and therefore is a kind of very pretty “bruxa” (German: Hexe) as you can see here:
