Just a short side note: Currently Portugal is discussing to implement the "Acordo Ortográfico" - an agreement of all Portuguese speaking countries in the world (including Brazil, Angola, etc.) in order to standardize Portuguese ortography and spelling. 

Among other changes, the Acordo Ortográfico also foresees to enlarge the Portuguese alphabet from 23 to 26 letters, meaning that K, W and Y will be officially added to the alphabet.
